How to Choose an Escape Room Supplier

June 28, 2026·2 min read

Buying a ready-made attraction is the fast way to open – but the supplier you pick determines whether it keeps earning or becomes a headache. Use this checklist before you commit.

What to look for

1. Truly turnkey. Does it arrive built, programmed and ready to run, or is there hidden assembly and setup work? Ask exactly what is included and what you have to do.

2. Low-staff operation. The best attractions are voice-acted and self-guiding, so one host can cover several rooms. This is the single biggest factor in your running costs – confirm it.

3. Reliability and repairability. Ask how it handles heavy, hands-on use, and how repairs work. Modular designs (replace one part, not the whole unit) save you downtime and money.

4. Customization. Can you re-theme the story, add puzzles, and record your own voice hints in your language? A good supplier lets you make it yours rather than locking you into one script.

5. Support after the sale. What happens when something breaks or a guest gets stuck? Look for real remote support and spare parts, not just a one-time sale.

6. Territory / exclusivity. Will they sell the same attraction to a competitor down the street? Ask about exclusive territory if that matters to you.

7. Proof it works. Ask for references, real operator results, and the economics (occupancy, revenue per game). A supplier confident in the product will share numbers.

8. Footprint and fit. Confirm the space it needs and that it fits your floor and audience.

Questions to ask on the first call

  • What exactly is included, and what do I set up myself?
  • Can one host run several rooms?
  • How are repairs and support handled, and how fast?
  • Can I re-theme it and add my own voice-over?
  • Do you offer territory exclusivity?
  • Can you share an operator’s real results?

A quick gut-check

If a supplier dodges questions about staffing, support, or real numbers, that tells you what running it will feel like. The right partner makes the economics and the support obvious.
